Meeting Points, Times and Locations for this Week's Sessions

Please 'check in' with the coach when you arrive

MORNING GROUP

  • Monday 12 February, 6.00am 
    Meeting Point: Deans Ave side of South Hagley Park (opposite the hospital shuttle carpark)
    5km Time Trial
    The purpose of this session is to get your 5km time so you can work out your paces for the programme going forward. Please record your own time for this 5km. The course is 2 laps - out and back to a 1.25km marker within South Hagley Park.

EVENING GROUP

  • Thursday 15 February 5.40pm
    Meeting Point: Deans Ave side of South Hagley Park (opposite the hospital shuttle carpark)

    The purpose of this session is to get your 5km time so you can work out your paces for the programme going forward. Please record your own time for this 5km. The course is 2 laps - out and back to a 1.25km marker within South Hagley Park.

BOTH GROUPS

Session Description:
You have a "timed" (rather than distance), there are 2 courses for you to follow. Please know the turnaround times and the pace objectives for each set. There is no recovery between each set. 

Session: 75min Run:                                           
20mins easy running (turn 10mins) Course 1
45mins at race pace (turn 22.5mins) Course 2
10mins at 10km pace (turn 5mins) Course 1

 

Course 1 Description:

  • From the start point, run along the Coastal Pathway towards Sumner and turn left towards Cave Rock.

  • At Cave Rock, run along the seaside Esplanade all the way towards Scarborough.

  • At the end of the Esplanade, turn right and run along to Nayland St.

  • Continue along Nayland St.

  • At your turnaround time, reverse the course and once back at the start, go straight into Set 2.
    No recovery between sets. 


Course 2 Description:

  • Continue along the Coastal Pathway in the opposite direction all the way towards Ferrymead. 

  • At your turnaround time, reverse the course and once back at the start, go straight into Set 3.
    No recovery between sets. 

You will see Get up to Five & Club10k out on your course also at times, they are also running along the Coastal Pathway but from the opposite direction to you.
