Meeting Points, Times and Locations for this Week's Sessions

Please 'check in' with the coach when you arrive

MORNING GROUP

​

  • Monday 21 April, 6.00am (Easter Monday, session on as normal)
    Meeting Point: Deans Ave side of South Hagley Park (opposite the hospital shuttle carpark)
    5km Time Trial
    The purpose of this session is to get your 5km time so you can work out your paces for the programme going forward. Please record your own time for this 5km. The course is 2 laps - out and back to a 1.25km marker within South Hagley Park.

EVENING GROUP

Session Description:
This is a "timed" run, there are 2 courses for you to follow. Please know the turnaround times and the pace objectives for each set. There is no recovery between each set. 

 

Session: 75mins

20mins Easy (turn 10mins) Course 1

45mins at Race Pace (turn 22.5mins) Course 2

10mins at 10km Pace* (turn 5mins) Course 1

*Beginner programme do this at Slightly Faster than Race Pace          
                   
   

Course 1 Description:

  1. Run up to Barrington St, turn left. 

  2. Run along Barrington Street - taking care when crossing over Rose St in both directions

  3. At your turnaround time (10mins), reverse the course back to the start and start straight into Set 2...
     

Course 2 Description:

  1. Run towards Princess Margaret Hospital and continue around onto Hoonhay Road

  2. Run up Hoonhay Road to Rose Street, turn right

  3. Run up Rose Street to Barrington St, turn right

  4. Run up Barrington St towards the hills and turn right into Ashgrove Terrace

  5. At 22.5mins, turnaround and go straight into Set 3 on Course 1
