Meeting Points, Times and Locations for this Week's Sessions

  • Thursday 11 September, 5.40pm
    Meeting Point: Deans Ave side of South Hagley Park (opposite the hospital shuttle carpark)

    5km Time Trial
    The purpose of this session is to get your 5km time so you can work out your paces for the programme going forward. Please record your own time for this 5km. The course is 2 laps - out and back to a 1.25km marker within South Hagley Park.

Session Description:
This is a "timed" run, there are 2 courses for you to follow. Please know the turnaround times and the pace objectives for each set. There is no recovery between each set. 

 

Session: 75mins

30mins Easy (turn 15mins) Course 1

10mins at 10km Pace (turn 5mins) Course 2

35mins at Race Pace (turn 17.5mins) Course 1 
 

Safety:

  1. Please stay on the paved pathway at all times and watch out for scooters, cyclists and other using the pathways.

  2. Run no more than 2 abreast

  3. Always check before you turnaround!

Course 1 Description:

  1. Start by running up the pathway towards the netball courts, turn left towards the hospital.

  2. Run on the left hand side of the path at all times. Follow the perimeter of the park all the way around to your turnaround time.

  3. At your turnaround time, reverse the course back to the start point and start straight into Set 2 on Course 2…
     

Course 2 Description:

  1. Continue past the start point and run up to Deans Ave, turn left

  2. Run towards Moorhouse Ave and continue along the perimeter pathway until your turnaround time and reverse the course back to the start point and start straight into your final set back on Course 1
